the first arabic script, a contemporary of ugarit. these are arabic words that are being represented, but no one has yet cracked the code. this is graffiti on temple bel at tadmor.

same temple, nearby. this is arabic from the mamluk period, regarding the legality of sheep herding practices nearby, and whether or not they infringed on the bedu (according to this mamluk ruler, they no longer do).
